Recommandations to reduce bandwith use of requests

Hi, I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for lowering bandwith cost of HTTP requests. I have to run multiple requests to a website to get several cookies which involves 3 GET requests and one POST. But to achieve this I have to use proxies that have a limited amount of bandwith (currently 3GB), and I would like to be able to use the less as possible for each requests. I was thinking to try and reduce to a minium the headers. I feel like the GET requests response (being a full HTML page) is quite heavy, would there be a way to only get cookies?
If you don't need anything in the source, instead of GET you can send HEAD which just gets the headers and not the source
